Pressed leather creates a patch experience unlike any other. It's something we wish we could do a lot more often, but the reality is that it's incredibly time-consuming. Little to none of the steps can be automated, and often, steps have to be repeated over and over again to get the best results.
What's awesome is that every single patch is entirely unique because of all these steps. The leather is cut from a half-cow-sized hide, which means that it comes from spots all over the animal's body. Different areas will have different properties and end with different results. These variances can be things like thickness, texture, skin blemishes on the animal, and dye penetration. Adding to this, every patch is also stained by hand, with up to 5 coats of stain, then sealed with natural mink oil, adding even more depth to the individual uniqueness of each patch.
When you purchase this patch, every single one of the only 34 made will have slight differences.
Each patch is backed with hook material that is secured by an extremely strong adhesive and a stitch of heavy-duty thread; additionally, each patch is stamped with a serial number.
